A sombre mood has swept across the school today as the neighbouring Cathedral hosts the funeral of PC Nicola Hughes, who was killed near Manchester on duty last week.
The sun is shining down on those gathered in Cathedral Gardens to pay their respects and the sound of much beautiful and thoughtful music and hymns is filling the air this lunchtime.
The Chetham’s Choristers are involved in the ceremony today, and again tomorrow, for the funeral of PC Fiona Bone.
