Today we would like to talk about a moving initiative
that reminds us how important a small gesture can be for those who struggle not
only to beat one of the hardest illnesses, but also to have a normal and
dignified life. The story that Emma Howarth tells us is a real
demonstration of sensitivity and selflessness that deserves our sincere
appreciation, gratitude and recognition.
On 21st December 2015, I cut 22 inches of my hair off to donate towards charity. The charity I donated it to was the Little Princess Trust, a charity that makes wigs for free and gives them to children whom have lost their hair from cancer. When I was on social media I realised how much of a serious issue cancer was, especially to kids that were around my age, and I know that one of the most heart breaking things for teens is to lose their hair; therefore, I thought it would be a good cause to donate my hair to, when I realised how long my hair was getting. I also managed to raise over £800, of which £350 pays for one wig.
